The 2023 FABRICAST™ collection features diverse fabric groupings centering on sustainability, performance, and inspiration.
For the sustainability focused portion of the new collection, synthetic fleece alternatives in cotton and wool feature light weight options in natural and mélange colorations, minimally processed textural French terry constructions highlight the natural attributes of cotton, and a knit to shape yarn dye abstract patterned athleisure tank top produces no excess cut and sew waste. Additionally, denim developments include recycled denim content yarns in a bottom weight twill construction, naturally colored cotton fiber, and unique dyeing and garment processing techniques.
The projects that fall into the performance focus highlight lightweight, double sided techy cotton and nylon mesh knits, quilted cotton rich flat knits with insulative qualities, technical knits incorporating a thermoplastic novelty yarn to create 3D textures, ventilating shirting weight weave constructions in solids as well as a variety of striking print patterns, and a non-denim bottom weight twill with comfort stretch and water resistance dual functionality.
For inspiration, cotton fabrics with interesting visual appeal include textural jacquard knits in sharp contrast cross dyes and spray techniques, multicolored optical effect links-links flat knits, and a crinkle effect textured jacquard woven.
