The Cotton Forum was held on June 19 – 21, 2012 in the Riviera Maya, Mexico. The purpose of the event was to bring together a select group of U.S. brands and retailers interested in sourcing cotton products in Latin America and introduce them to mills and manufacturers from Mexico, Central and South America.
The conference included a business session with presentations from textile associations from Mexico, Central America and Peru making the case for sourcing products from each of their countries or regions. Cotton Incorporated staff also presented information on cotton pricing and economic outlook, consumer attitudinal research and the many positive facts about today’s cotton growth and production.
Over the remaining day and a half of the conference, Cotton Incorporated arranged 30 minute meetings designed to match brands and retailers with mills that met their sourcing needs, in order to encourage business relationships for cotton products in the Western Hemisphere. The event was extremely successful and illustrates the exceptional power of Cotton Incorporated to gather the industry to facilitate business opportunities.
