Past, Present, and Future



As consumers age, an evolution occurs in which they become more focused on family and convenience, and this shift tends to come at the expense of apparel shopping. Consumers' enjoyment of clothes shopping declines, they spend less time and money on acquiring apparel, and they look homeward for clothing ideas. Understanding of this evolutionary process must form the basis of strategies for maintaining consumers throughout their life cycle—not the product's life cycle.
