The company’s color and surface directions for fall/winter 2011 will be augmented by examples from the Cotton Incorporated FABRICAST collection, which demonstrate how to achieve the trends in cotton. In addition, technical experts will be available to explain a range of Cotton Incorporated finishes for the fashion and athletic apparel segments. More information can be obtained at the Cotton Incorporated/Cotton Council International stand, Hall 5, A20 – B19. “Cotton Incorporated has a reputation of providing the textile apparel sector with useful resources,” says Linda DeFranco, Director, Product Trend Analysis. “At the February Premiere Vision show, we are taking an integrated approach to enhance the level of service we provide to the industry.” The Cotton Incorporated trend forecast for the fall and winter 2010/2011 season will present a range of color palette and surface trends, many of which will be illustrated by examples from the company’s FABRICAST collection of cotton fabrications. “The goal is to marry the trends with the techniques,” says DeFranco. A trend direction called “Remedy,” for example, cites the alignment of science and emotions to artistic effect as an emerging trend. Examples of deflected and compact weaves in knitwear from the FABRICAST collection provide a tactile example of the direction and include manufacturing specifications for creating the fabrication. A remedy for manufacturers and brands looking for added advantage in their cotton offerings can be found in Cotton Incorporated technologies that provide breathable water repellency to denim, cotton and fleece. For attendees from the athletic apparel sector, the technical experts at the Cotton Incorporated stand also have a range of moisture management technologies that unite the performance needs with the global consumer preference for cotton apparel.
