Cotton’s Dirty Laundry Tour™
Participate in Cotton. From Blue to Green.™, Denim Drive to Aide in Hurricane Relief

New York, NY - In September, Cotton Incorporated will kick off the third annual Cotton’s Dirty Laundry Tour™. This college campus tour is an exciting, interactive mobile marketing event for college students that fuses the social aspects of music, games, style and fashion with the many benefits of cotton. The tour is designed to engage this particular group as they begin to experience life away from their parents and all the freedom and responsibility that it entails.

Cotton’s Dirty Laundry Tour will travel to 11 college campuses across the country to hold 14 events, over a period of seven weeks, to heighten awareness and exposure of cotton among college students. Activities focus around what’s relevant to this demographic group – from music and sports to great fall fashions and the ease of laundry care.

Building on the success of the last few years, Cotton’s Dirty Laundry Tour will once again hit the road with the Cotton. From Blue to Green.™, denim drive. The “denim drive” is a call to action to donate old denim and give it “new life” by converting it into natural fiber insulation. Once the denim is collected, Allan Company (www.allancompany), will bale the denim, JBM Fibers (www.jbmfibers.com) will process the denim to its original state, cotton, and then Bonded Logic, Inc. (www.bondedlogic.com), a leader in natural fiber insulation, will convert the denim into UltraTouch Natural Cotton Fiber Insulation.

The Cotton. From Blue to Green. denim drive is an important part of this year's Cotton's Dirty Laundry Tour. Each Cotton's Dirty Laundry Tour event school is participating in the Cotton. From Blue to Green. program and will assist in helping to rebuild hurricane ravaged homes in Louisiana. This element of the tour provides a pro-social connection for college students to interact with cotton, generate awareness about its sustainability and ability to be reused, and create a philanthropic aspect to the tour.

In 2006, the Cotton. From Blue to Green.™ denim drive traveled to 14 colleges throughout the nation and collected an astounding 14,566 pieces of denim, doubling the original goal. The donated denim was converted to Ultra Touch™ natural fiber insulation and helped in the building of over 70 houses throughout the Gulf Coast region.

From Blue To Green denim drive, Cotton Incorporated was honored to work with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Baton Rouge to help in the rebuilding of homes for hurricane-affected families and to show how students can make a difference and give back to a community in need."
