MindWorks Multimedia Wins National Telly Award
Educational CD-ROM developed by Cotton Incorporated

Release Date: Wednesday, April 25, 2007

Cary, NC - MindWorks Multimedia, an award-winning interactive multimedia video production company based in Durham, N.C., was recently honored with a national multimedia award in the 28th Annual Telly Awards competition.

Founded in 1978, the Telly Awards honor outstanding television commercials and programs as well as the finest video and film productions from the most respected advertising agencies, production companies, television stations, cable operators, and corporate video departments in the world. A widely known and highly respected national and international competition, the Telly Awards receive over 13,000 entries from around the world. Each entry is judged on its own merit and competes against a high standard of excellence.

MindWorks received a Silver Telly Award, the competition’s highest honor, for an educational CD-ROM developed for Cotton Incorporated called “The Art of Sweater Manufacturing.” The program demonstrates the entire sweater manufacturing process and includes video shot in manufacturing plants along with 3-D animation. The program was created to teach retail buyers and sourcing managers how sweaters are designed and manufactured; however, anyone involved in the apparel and textile industry can use it as a reference tool and training program on the sweater manufacturing process. This program is part of a series of educational programs developed by MindWorks for Cotton Incorporated with funding provided by the Importers Support Program of the Cotton Board.

“This educational CD program was developed to provide the first of its kind interactive sessions on various topics regarding yarn, fabric or finishing techniques. We introduced this program four years ago and had no idea it would be such a huge success. Classes are always filled to capacity, individual and company purchases continue, and many companies stock this series in their company’s educational library. We now offer eight different educational guides that cover all aspects of manufacturing and finishing. The experts at Cotton Incorporated with the experts at MindWorks Multimedia produced a high quality, vital educational tool for the industry,” explained Dennis Horstman, Senior Director, Account Management, Cotton Incorporated.

“Cotton Incorporated always gives us the creative freedom to develop programs that are engaging and educational,” said MindWorks founder Greg Rowland. "We’re thrilled that this Cotton project is being recognized by the Telly Awards."
