| WHAT NOT TO DO |
REVERSE USE
The "cotton boll" and the word "COTTON" must always print in the lighter color, preferably white. Even in reverse printing, such as on dark paper stock, it is incorrect to have the background “screen” in a lighter shade than the “boll” and the word "COTTON". |
THE ® AND ™ MARKS
The appropriate marking (® or ™) must appear outside the lower right hand corner of the Seal, outside of the "holding line". |
DIMENSIONS
Alterations in the dimensions of the Seal, such as elongating or compressing the Seal are not permitted. |
ACCOMPANYING TYPE
No copy should appear in close proximity to the perimeter of the Seal. There must be ample space so that the copy does not appear to be a part of Cotton Incorporated’s trademark. The Seal must stand apart from your graphics in a distinctive way. |
HOLDING LINE
The "cotton boll" and the word "COTTON" must always appear in conjunction with the "holding line" that completes the Seal of Cotton. The interior cannot be used alone. |
SOLID INTERIOR
The interior of the Seal, that is the space between the "holding line" and the "cotton boll" and the word "COTTON", must be solid. No graphics or type can "bleed through" this space. |
COLOR
The "cotton boll" and the word "COTTON" must always print in the lighter color, preferably white. Be sure to choose a solid color (i.e. no stripes), that is dark enough to contrast the white "boll" and the word "COTTON". |
ARTWORK
Only artwork provided by Cotton Incorporated may be used on packaging and other promotional materials. In all cases, use of the Seal of Cotton must be approved by Cotton Incorporated before going to production. |
