Fabric Analysis Workshop
About the Workshop
The attendee will be trained to dismantle a fabric to determine its construction parameters and to get some basic insight on how it was dyed and finished. From attending this course, the student will learn how to determine the yarn size, type, and configuration. On the fabric level, construction parameters of weight, stitch/thread counts, course length, stitch length, contractions, crimp, and others parameters will be addressed. The ability to pick out the fabric design will be highlighted for both yarn and piece-dyed fabrics. After attending the workshop, the student will be able to properly analyze a fabric to better understand its make-up and to determine if it meets product specifications.
Prerequisites
This is an intermediate level workshop. Knowledge of textile fundamentals and fabric manufacturing are required.
Why Attend
The course will provide the attendee with technical know-how and a better understanding of fabric geometry. Also, skills learned will allow the attendee to better understand the costing of their products.
